Tangata joins Wakefield

Wakefield Trinity sign Adam Tangata from Halifax.

Wakefield Trinity have signed Halifax RLFC star Adam Tangata on-loan until the end of the season, the deal sees Keegan Hirst move in the opposite direction.

Tangata becomes Trinity’s third signing this week to add to the arrival of full-back Morgan Escaré and prop Chris Green.

The 28-year old has been at Halifax since 2013, via a short stint at Widnes Vikings at the beginning of this season.

The former Cook Islands international is a welcome boost for Trinity’s pack and could make his debut on Sunday against Hull FC.

Meanwhile, Hirst, who signed for Trinity ahead of the 2017 campaign made 66 appearances for the club and joins Halifax with our best wishes!

Tangata said:“I’m really looking forward to getting started here at Wakefield. I’m excited to give my all for the team in the remaining five games.

“I’ve met all the boys at training and they are a great bunch so I’m just raring to go from now until the end of the season!??

Hirst would like to thank Trinity for making his three years at the club “fantastic??.

“I’d like to thank everybody at Wakefield Trinity for their support over the last three years.

“The staff, fans and players have been fantastic and i’ve loved every minute of being a Trinity player.

“I’d like to wish everyone at the club the best of luck for the rest of the season and i’ve no doubt the team will get the results they need to finish the season on a high.

“I’m looking forward to a new challenge at Halifax and helping them finish the season on a high.??

Head Coach, Chris Chester added: “It’s another good bit of business by us to get Adam Tangata signed until the end of the season.

“Along with Chris Green, he’ll add a lot to the pack in these remaining games and i’m looking forward to seeing him out there.

“Everyone at the club would like to wish Keegan the best of luck at Halifax. He’s done a real good job for us since joining in 2017 and with him being off-contract at the end of the season, it’s a chance for him to get plenty of game time in these last five weeks.??
