Men
Four more years for Field
12 Jan 2024

Wigan Warriors' star man Jai Field will long continue his career in a Warriors shirt, as Wigan have announced his signing of a four-year contract extension.
This notable signing will keep Field with the current Champions until the end of the 2027 season, as he confidently commits his long-term future to the club.
Since arriving at the Warriors in 2021, Field has lit up the Betfred Super League with his dazzling speed and all-round play, making 59 appearances and scoring 43 tries - and fans will continue to witness this for a few more years to come.
During his time at Wigan so far, the talented playmaker has enjoyed a Betfred Challenge Cup victory in 2022, earning himself a place in the Super League Dream Team that same year, before playing an integral part in the Warriors' incredible 2023 season - where Wigan went on to win both the League Leaders' Shield and Grand Final, in emphatic fashion.
On sealing a new deal with Wigan Warriors, Field commented: "I'm really pleased to be extending my stay here at Wigan. I'm very grateful that the Club and the fans have shown me so much faith in me over the past few seasons. It really did make it an easy decision to extend.
"I've enjoyed every minute of being here so far and I'm looking forward now. Hopefully, we are building towards something special with this group that the Club and coaches have put together and that really excites me to be hanging around."
Warriors Head Coach Matt Peet is also extremely pleased with this significant signing and said:
"Everyone associated with the Wigan Warriors will know that this is an excellent move for the Club. Jai works hard on his game; he is an outstanding player and is an important part of what we are building.
"Our fans love him and rightly so, he is exciting to watch and one of those players that will inspire future generations of Rugby League players. I look forward to building our working relationship and hopefully seeing Jai enjoying success both on and off the field."
Finally, Chief Executive, Kris Radlinski added:
"Jai would be one of my favourite players to watch. I very often remind Matt Peet that we cannot take his excellence for granted. His skill level, speed, fitness and all-round ability are seriously impressive. I would say to Wigan fans to enjoy and cherish his ability as players like Jai do not come around very often.
"It's crucial to acknowledge the dedication these players demonstrate to our club, often leaving behind family and friends on the other side of the World. Let's ensure that we express our love and appreciation for them wholeheartedly."
Field and the Warriors will now be looking ahead to the eagerly-anticipated 'Clash of the Champions' in February, as current Betfred Super League Champions Wigan Warriors take on NRL Premiers Penrith Panthers in the Betfred World Club Challenge, at the DW Stadium.
Tickets can be purchased here, as Wigan seek a record-equalling fifth WCC title.
