The Saints continued their perfect start to the 2024 Betfred Super League season on Friday, as Matt Whitley reappears in Team of the Week and is alongside his team-mate Lewis Dodd.
Both players were outstanding in their gutsy victory against Leigh Leopards - their quick play setting up the opening try of the game as Jack Welsby collected and crashed over. This was before a show and go effort from Dodd to send Makinson racing away for what turned out to be the match-winner.

Likewise, Wigan Warriors remain unbeaten in 2024, as hat-trick hero Liam Marshall starred in the Champions victory over Huddersfield, with three impressive tries and finishing as the Warriors' second top metre marker - with 108 metres in just 12 carries. And top metre maker of match, Luke Thompson, also played an integral part in Wigan's win as he receives the relevant recognition in Round 3.

It was all smiles for Sam Burgess' men on Friday night, as Warrington Wolves made it two from two on home soil when they welcomed Castleford Tigers to the Halliwell Jones Stadium. Matt Dufty produced a stand out attacking display for the Wolves, as the prolific full-back racked up an astounding 231 metres, as well as one try and two assists.

And it's three from three Team of the Week appearances for Ash Handley, as he is selected in the Round 3 side for a brilliant effort against Catalans on Saturday. The Rhinos edged the Dragons in a thriller and this time Handley makes it for his two try contribution (that's now five in three games!), one of which was beautifully assisted by captain Cam Smith, who also features this week - emerging as Leeds' top tackler in this game. Harry Newman then makes it a trio of Rhino shirts, following a top performance and try of his own.
Chris Satae of Catalans Dragons also features for the second week running, as despite being on the losing side, he was one of the Dragons best players - putting a huge shift in both defence and attack, and scoring his team's only try of the match.
A thing of beauty ?@leedsrhinos' Cameron Smith channeled his inner Kevin Sinfield for this pass ? Exceptional ball ?#SuperLeague pic.twitter.com/gONYt8qJSD

Back-to-back Player of the Match Marc Sneyd produced a masterclass in Salford's second successive victory on Saturday, as the Red Devils dominated against Hull KR. Sneyd's efforts earn him a place in Round 3's Team of the Week, and he is joined alongside captain and Red Devils' top metre maker of the round Kallum Watkins.

The club captains' stellar performances continued in Round 3 as veteran leader Danny Houghton for Hull takes the hooker position this week. Hull were boosted by the return of their skipper at the weekend, and Houghton became integral to the Black and Whites last-gasp win over newly-promoted London Broncos on Sunday, producing 58 tackles and guiding his players around the pitch.
Finally, Robbie Storey becomes the first London Broncos player to appear in Team of the Week in 2024 after a phenomenal interception try - a try which initially appeared to have won what was an incredible game for the Broncos. Although Tony Smith's men went on the snatch it in the dying minutes and causing heart-break for London, the remarkable and spirited performances from Mike Eccles' men did not go unnoticed.
