With the release of the 2026 Betfred Super League fixtures, it is now less than three months until the competition's hotly anticipated return - and it promises to be another exciting season as we celebrate 30 years of Super League.
Will Hull KR retain the Super League title and go back-to-back? Or will the others have something to say about that?
Which six teams will secure their place in the Play-Offs this time round? And how will the three new sides get on in their promotion to the top flight?
We’ve compiled six compelling rounds to watch out for in 2026…
ROUND 1 (Seven opening spectacles)
The opening round has it all, as the new Super League season kicks off in emphatic fashion on Thursday 12 February with the newly promoted York Knights hosting the treble-winning champions Hull KR at the LNER Community Stadium, live exclusively on Sky Sports.
Mark Applegarth makes his coaching return to Super League with the Knights in their first crack at the top-flight, while Willie Peters’ men will begin their title defence on the road.
This is followed by Warrington Wolves versus St Helens on the Friday (also live exclusively on Sky Sports) – with both sides having had a number of exciting encounters in recent seasons.
The Wolves will be hoping for a much-improved year, while Paul Rowley looks to work his magic as he takes the reigns at the Red V.
The Friday night feast then continues as two of last year’s top six Leigh Leopards and Leeds Rhinos face off under the lights of Leigh Sports Village.
Both teams enjoyed stellar campaigns in 2025 and have been gradually building towards something special.
Having established themselves as genuine contenders, will either side get a taste of silverware in 2026?
Also on Friday, Huddersfield Giants are the first team to make the trip to Perpignan and will face Catalans Dragons in their opening match.
Saturday is going to be a memorable one when Bradford Bulls mark their return to the top with an away day at Hull FC.
‘Bullmania’ is back in the big time following an absence of over a decade, with Kurt Haggerty preparing to lead a revamped side ready for Super League.
Meanwhile, Wakefield Trinity meet Toulouse Olympique on home soil for the first time since the 2024 Betfred Championship Grand Final, in a Saturday night showdown with the third new club in 2026.
Castleford Tigers’ clash with Wigan Warriors sees out the opening round on Sunday afternoon and will be streamed live on BBC iPlayer, as part of the BBC’s continuing rugby league coverage.
The Tigers are fresh-looking under new head coach Ryan Carr, but former champions Wigan will undoubtedly be a dominant force once more.
*Sky Sports will once again show every game live, including two matches in each round exclusively, with the remaining five matches each week shown on Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+.

Super League will stage a return visit to Vegas alongside four NRL sides – and this time there will be a strong Yorkshire flavour involved.
Hull KR and Leeds Rhinos will represent Super League in the Entertainment Capital of the World in on the 28 February 2026, and it’s expected to be another magnificent occasion.
Round 3 also sees the first Battle of the Borough between local rivals Wigan Warriors and Leigh Leopards get underway, which promises to a trademark thriller!

ROUND 7 (Rivals Round)
Rivals Round is back, and the 2025 Easter Weekend is bound to be an epic extravaganza!
Seven fierce rivalries will be renewed over the 3-5 April, with the action getting underway on Good Friday – and it's set to be an unforgettable one, starting with the highly anticipated Hull Derby staged at Sewell Group Craven Park.
Hull KR will be searching for a seventh straight victory over their inner-city rivals Hull FC in all competitions. Can the Black & Whites finally enact revenge for the Robins’ clean sweep of results against them?
Then, there’s the iconic Good Friday Derby contested between St Helens and Wigan Warriors at The BrewDog Stadium to mark down in your diaries – a storied rivalry steeped in history.
The third and final fixture of a jam-packed afternoon sees Bradford Bulls and Leeds Rhinos renew their famous rivalry under Friday night lights of Bartercard Odsal Stadium – a truly unmissable clash between two former Super League champions.
It’s a fixture many have been waiting for, and one that should serve up a real classic.
Huddersfield Giants take on York Knights as part of Saturday’s triple-header – a new opposition for both sides to experience.
Warrington Wolves and Leigh Leopards will also face off on Saturday – a fierce encounter between two local sides that has provided plenty of entertainment in recent years.
The Easter weekend is also set to be special when the two French sides lock horns in 2026 Rivals Round. Catalans Dragons will welcome Toulouse Olympique to the Stade Gilbert Brutus, which should be an enticing spectacle for all involved in the south of France.
Last but not least, fans are in for a treat as Rivals Round concludes with Castleford Tigers hosting Wakefield Trinity on Easter Sunday.
The Tigers will be keen to re-enact the events the last time they faced their nearest and dearest at the OneBore Stadium, with Trinity hoping they can restore bragging rights. There’s never any love lost between these two West Yorkshire neighbours!
Which teams do you think will take the spoils? It means more in Rivals Round.
Rivals Round Returns will then take place in Round 20.

ROUND 12 (Grand Final Rematch)
Hull KR were crowned 2025 Betfred Super League champions after a formidable 24-6 performance against former champions Wigan Warriors under the lights at Old Trafford back in October.
The sides have become well acquainted with each other in the past two seasons, having had two thrilling neck and neck battles for the League Leaders’ Shield, before meeting on Grand Final Day two years running.
Their match ups never disappoint, and we should expect a truly pulsating and intense affair when they lock horns at the home of the current champions Hull KR next May.
Will they be our top two come Round 12? They are certainly the teams to beat in 2026, but will they be Grand Finalists for a third successive year?

ROUND 17 (Magic WKND)
Magic Weekend will have a new home in 2026 – Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium in Liverpool.
This will become Magic’s seventh venue in its history, with a eagerly anticipated line-up.
Next year’s Magic sees the return of three of the classic derby matches which were played at the very first Magic Weekend in Cardiff in 2007.
The weekend will kick off with York Knights making their Magic debut against Huddersfield Giants on the Saturday, before Hull KR will face their fierce local rivals Hull FC.
The first day action then concludes with a Saturday night clash between Leigh Leopards and Warrington Wolves.
Then on Sunday, Bradford Bulls will play their old foes Leeds Rhinos at Magic Weekend for the first time since 2012, before the weekend ends with the traditional Super League blockbuster between Wigan Warriors and St Helens.
Sunday’s schedule begins with Wakefield Trinity facing Castleford Tigers.

ROUND 27 (Play-Off Potential)
The battle for the top six went to the final rounds last season – can we expect a similar story in 2026?
Plenty will be on the line when the regular season reaches its finale, as Leeds Rhinos host Hull FC – two teams with firm Play-Off aspirations in 2026.
The Rhinos will be looking to build on last year’s top four finish – their best since 2017, whereas John Cartwright’s side will be hoping to avoid the heartbreak of missing out on the top six.
Then, there’s a mouthwatering clash between Leigh Leopards and Wakefield Trinity at the Leigh Sports Village, who both met in the 2025 Eliminators.
These teams also mean business in 2026.
Meanwhile, there’s a blockbuster clash between St Helens and high-flying Hull KR which is a repeat of last year’s Semi-Final.
What position will the Robins find themselves in when Round 27 hits, and will Saints be enroute to success?
The Warriors also face the Dragons on the final day too, which could be interesting…
What rounds are you most looking forward to in 2026?
