Fantasy League Debrief

Round 16 produced some dramatic moments! Ahead of Rugby League’s biggest Summer festival this weekend, Magic Weekend, let’s breakdown this week’s fantasy performers

Top Performers

Jack Welsby – 91 points

One of the Betfred Super League’s star players, Welsby missed a large chunk of the start of the season after coming off injured against the Wolves in Round 1. His performance proved why he’s the England full-back.

The Saint was on the scoresheet with two tries and one try assist against the Bulls. He also completed four offloads and busted through six Bulls tacklers!

Welsby is by no means the cheapest, 160k in fact. But given his display at the weekend, he’s well worth putting in your fantasy team for Magic WKND. Will he be part of your side?

Jackson Hastings – 90 points

The Aussie half-back, shone against the Bulls in Round 16. His second half display, help guide the Saints to victory

Hastings scored one try and assisted another two, completed a staggering eleven attacking kicks as well as eight goals. Making a meaningful contribution to a Saints side that ran riot at Batercard Odsal.

Looking for a new half-back for your fantasy side? Maybe, Jackson Hastings is your man!

Tom Johnstone – 83 points

The Trinity speedster has appeared on this list multiple times this season, given his display against the Giants, we can see why!

The Trin number five continued his good form, scoring one try, making three clean line breaks, running for 220 metres, three offloads and a mammoth seven tackle busts.

Johnstone can provide a consistent source of fantasy points, will you put him in your side for Magic WKND?

Albert Hopoate – 77 points

Hopoate put in a Player of the Match performance against the Dragons at a sweltering Halliwell Jones Stadium on Thursday night. Making a match-winning contribution!

Running for 180 metres with the ball in hand, scoring a try in the process as he bulldozed across the whitewash. With one clean line break and making a staggering 16 tackle busts.

The Wolves centre is priced cheaper than other centres at £110k, but performs above his price tag in terms of fantasy points. Will he be part of your team this weekend?

Jake Trueman – 76 points

Jake Trueman has been a key part of Daryl Powell’s side in 2026, which has seen him make the extended England Performance programme

Trueman was at the heart of everything good for the Trinity, assisting three tries, making two clean line breaks and completing seven attacking kicks as the West Yorkshire outfit went on to snatch victory.

Fantasy Flops

Cesar Rouge – 8 points

The Frenchman failed to make an impact as his side were beaten at home. Rouge played out of his normal position, as he filled in for Olly Ashall-Bott at full-back. He’ll want to do better as Toulouse collide with the Dragons on Saturday in Castres!

Joe Ofahengaue – 16 points

The Leopards prop will be disappointed he didn’t make any meaningful contributions to his side’s victory in the South of France in a fantasy sense, he’ll be looking to do much better at the Hill Dickinson stadium this weekend.
