Halifax Panthers to face Leeds Rhinos in the Betfred Wheelchair Super League Grand Final

Halifax Panthers will face Leeds Rhinos in the 2026 Betfred Wheelchair Super League Grand Final on Sunday 20 September (KO 5:30pm), after both sides claimed convincing Play-Off wins at the weekend.

The Panthers booked their place on Saturday with another victory over London Roosters.

The sides had met just a week earlier, when the Panthers edged a six-point win. This time, in the semi-final, the Roosters were unable to maintain their early momentum as the Panthers took control after half-time.

London started strongly, leading 4-12 early on after Mason Billington and Lewis King crossed, with both tries converted by Max Owen.

But the Panthers soon took charge, inspired by Rob Hawkins, who delivered another standout performance with six tries and a strong return from the tee.

On Sunday, Leeds Rhinos claimed the remaining Grand Final place with victory over Wigan Warriors.

Despite holding only a narrow lead at the break, the Rhinos surged clear after half-time, scoring four tries in the opening 14 minutes to move beyond the Warriors’ reach.

Josh Butler and Nathan Collins led the way for Leeds, adding seven tries between them, while Tristan Norfolk and Nathan Mulhall each earned braces. Collins also kicked 11 goals from 13 attempts, underlining the impressive form he carries into the Grand Final.

The semi-final results send both teams into their second final of the season, following their meeting in July’s Betfred Wheelchair Challenge Cup Final.

The Rhinos will be determined to deny the Panthers a third trophy after falling short in the Challenge Cup Final, while Halifax will aim to make history by completing back-to-back trebles.
