Broncos Women secure Betfred Women’s Super League spot for 2027

London Broncos have secured their spot in the 2027 Betfred Women’s Super League with victory over Leigh Leopards in this weekend’s Promotion Play-Off Final.

The Broncos battled hard at the Brick Community Stadium to earn a 36-6 win over the Leopards, who were fighting to keep their place in the competition heading into 2027.

Despite efforts from Leigh in the first 40 minutes, the Broncos stormed into the second half with a 24-6 lead, before taking full control and preventing any further crossings from the Leopards.

The final marks the third consecutive opportunity for Broncos to make it to the top-flight after narrowly missing out on the last step in their hopeful BWSL journey when they lost to the Leopards and Featherstone Rovers in 2024 and 2025.

Speaking on their victory, Hermione Titcombe and Emily Bell said:

“We were just talking about it before and we thought we didn’t need to change anything. Just keep calm, keep composed, play the rugby we love to play and we'll make it work. And it happened.

“It's been five years of building for this and we're so excited to be the team themselves competing in the Super League.

“We're bringing rugby league to South now, London are on the map.”

London Broncos will compete in the BWSL next year, while Leigh Leopards will now play in the Women's National Championship competition in 2027.
