Trinity and Red Devils do swap deal

Wakefield Trinity have signed Junior Sa’u from Salford Red Devils on a one-month loan deal, with Pauli Pauli heading to the AJ Bell Stadium.

The experienced centre, who has been impressive since joining Super League in 2014, adds some depth and quality to Trinity’s back line, which is without the likes of Joe Arundel, Bill Tupou and Tom Johnstone.

Sa’u has represented New Zealand and Samoa at International level, whilst also being a big hit in the NRL whilst playing for Melbourne and Newcastle.

The 32-year-old is excited to join a team that he says “can go all the way??.

??I’m genuinely excited to get started,?? said Sa’u to wakefieldtrinity.com.

??Wakefield play a good style of football that suits me and I’m just relishing the challenge ahead of me.

??I’m also looking forward to playing in front of the vocal fans who I know from when I’ve played against Wakefield, are very loud!

??I met the boys today and they were all welcoming. Wakefield are a club that are getting better and better each year and I believe they can go all the way.??

Trinity Head Coach, Chris Chester welcomes the arrival of Sa’u to strengthen the back-line.

??To bring in a player of Junior’s quality at this point of the season is great for us,?? admits Chester.

??With Joe and Bill still six weeks away from returning, the arrival of Junior really strengthens us and adds some real good depth.??

??Pauli will head the other way on-loan with a view to getting more minutes. His game time has been limited recently with the form of Justin Horo, Danny Kirmond and James Batchelor, so it’s an opportunity for Pauli to get some more gametime at Salford.??
