Miski signs new Wigan contract

Wigan Warriors winger Abbas Miski has signed a new four-year deal to keep him at the Warriors until the end of the 2027 season.

The Lebanese international made a name for himself in the Betfred Super League last year, finishing the regular campaign as joint top try-scorer with 28 tries in all competitions.

Since his first game in 2023 in round 6, his tally includes five tries against Castleford Tigers recently, a four-try haul against Hull KR and two further hat-tricks against Catalans Dragons and Leigh Leopards.

He also played a key part in the Wigan side which won the League Leaders' Shield and became 2023 Champions, following their Grand Final victory.

Miski also collected the Wigan Warriors 2023 Players' Player of the Year and Player of the Year awards at the end of the season, and on finalising his new deal, Miski said to Wigan Warriors:

"Wigan has felt like home since the moment I arrived at the Club, so I'm happy to be keeping it that way for another four years."

Warriors Head Coach Matt Peet added:

"I'm sure everyone associated with the Club is as happy as me to see Abbas extend his time with us.

"He has proved himself to be an outstanding member of this Club, both on and off the field. His performances on the wing this year have been first class."

Warriors Chief Executive, Kris Radlinski commented on the deal:

"Abbas is an incredibly popular member of the team. Unassuming, hard working and a great teammate. I remember the press release when we signed him and I had a hunch that he would become a cult hero at the Club and that has proven to be the case.

"Wigan fans want players who give everything for the shirt and Abbas falls into that category."

Miski joins his team-mate Jai Field who has also recently committed to a new four-year deal with Wigan. They and the Warriors will now be looking ahead to the eagerly-anticipated 'Clash of the Champions' in February, as current Betfred Super League Champions Wigan Warriors take on NRL Premiers Penrith Panthers in the Betfred World Club Challenge, at the DW Stadium.

Tickets can be purchased here, as Wigan seek a record-equalling fifth WCC title.
