Wigan Warriors maintained their perfect start to the Betfred Women's Super League season with a 58-0 win at Huddersfield Giants.
Denis Betts made three changes to the starting line-up from last weekend’s Challenge Cup Final as Tiana Power, Jade Gregory-Haselden and Cerys Jones replace Georgia Wilson, Holly Speakman and Shaniah Power whilst Mia-Jayne Atherton and Kaitlin Hilton also came onto the interchange bench for Rachel Thompson and Emily Veivers.
An emphatic performance saw the Warriors score nine tries at Laund Hill – Eva Hunter, Tiana Power and Megan Williams each scoring twice – to maintain their perfect start to the league campaign.
Wigan's victory saw them return to the top of the table after four games.
It was a fast start from the Challenge Cup winners, with Coleman and Hunter crossing inside six minutes, with Hunter again and Power twice scoring before the break.
Ebony Stead scored four tries as Leeds Rhinos secured the league's biggest-ever win, thrashing Warrington Wolves 110-0 at Headingley.Wigan's victory saw them return to the top of the table after four games.
Leeds were 54-0 up at the break, with Stead, Izzy Northrop and Evie Cousins all scoring twice.
Ella Donnelly, Bethan Dainton and Sophie Nuttall also scored before half-time.
Stead added two more, while Cousins and Nuttall completed hat-tricks, and Lucy Murray (twice), Ruby Bruce, Donnelly again, Liv Whitehead, Shannon Brown and Ruby Walker scored to get Leeds off the mark in empahtic fashion.
St Helens Women beat Barrow Raiders 6-40 with a strong second half performance to bounce back to winning ways following defeat in the Challenge Cup Final.
Derek Hardman and Craig Richards made a few changes from the side that took to the field at Wembley; with Naomi Williams starting at prop, Amy Taylor in the halves and Erin Stott stepping into the centres.
It was a good attacking start from the Red V, with full-back Beri Salihi who carefully caught the ball despite the windy conditions which would make it difficult for the Saints in the opening half.
It was a close encounter going into half time with the visitors holding a narrow 8-6 lead with Saints coming out strong after the break and eventually securing the win.
Elsewhere, York Valkyrie got their second win of the Super League season, with a 26-0 win over Leigh Leopards at Golborne Parkside.
It was only Leigh’s second defeat of the season, after making a flying start to life in the top flight, following last season’s promotion.
With a number of players rested, a much changed Valkyrie line up scored five tries in a game which now sees them sit just outside the top four of the table.
