BWhcSL: Round 7 Round Up

It was a thrilling weekend in the Betfred Wheelchair Super League as Round 7 delivered first wins and impressive performances across the competition.

The weekend began with Edinburgh Giants taking on Bradford Bulls, as both sides searched for their first victory of the season.

Despite a determined display from the Bulls, who posted 42 points, the Giants produced an outstanding attacking performance to claim a convincing 78-42 victory.

Next up, Wigan Warriors faced London Roosters in a hard-fought contest.

The Roosters entered Round 7 with just one defeat after narrowly losing to Halifax Panthers the previous weekend.

Determined to bounce back, London produced a resilient defensive display to keep the scoreline within reach.

However, Wigan were equally determined to come away with the two points, combining strong attacking with a formidable defensive effort that forced the Roosters to work tirelessly for every score.

It was that balance of attacking flair and defensive resilience that saw the Cherry and Whites emerge victorious with a 31-22 win.

Sunday's action got underway with Sheffield Eagles hosting Leeds Rhinos.

The Eagles put in a spirited performance against a Rhinos side enjoying an excellent campaign so far.

The opening 40 minutes proved to be an entertaining battle, with Leeds' Tristan Norfolk crossing for five tries as the sides went into the break tied at 26-26.

The Rhinos took control after the restart, preventing any more Sheffield scoring for the remainder of the game after Joe Wink-Simmonds crossed in the 44th minute for his first try.

Their strong attacking effort meant Leeds headed home victors at 32-62.

The final game of the weekend saw Halifax Panthers host Hull FC.

Heading into Round 7 with an unbeaten record, the Panthers wasted no time asserting dominance, taking control from the opening whistle and racking up the points to finish just one short of a century.

Despite Hull's best efforts, they were unable to wrestle back momentum as Halifax sealed a dominant 99-6 victory to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
