Wigan Warriors Women secure 2026 League Leaders’ Shield

Wigan Warriors have been crowned League Leaders’ Shield winners after defeating Leeds Rhinos in the Betfred Women’s Super League this weekend, adding a second piece of silverware to a memorable 2026 season.  

The achievement follows their Betfred Challenge Cup triumph at Wembley Stadium in May and means the Warriors will now turn their focus to defending their Super League title as they aim to go back-to-back as champions.  

As League Leaders, Wigan have earned a bye straight through to the Betfred Women’s Super League Grand Final, which will be staged at the Brick Community Stadium on Sunday 27th September, live on Sky Sports (KO 5:30pm). 

The Warriors will discover their opponents on 18th September when the sides finishing second and third meet in the Semi-Final for the remaining place in the showpiece fixture. 

Tickets for the Grand Final are on sale now, with unreserved seating available in the East Stand of the Brick Community Stadium.  

Tickets are priced at £15 for adults and £5 for juniors. 

The Grand Final will also form part of a double-header, with the promotional play-off final taking place ahead of the main event between the winners of the Women’s Championship and the team finishing fourth in the BWSL Shield Competition.
