Ward signs new deal

Danny Ward signs a new contract with London Broncos

London Broncos have announced that Head Coach Danny Ward has re-signed with the club on a new two year deal seeing him stay in the capital until the end of the 2021 season.

Ward has had an unbelievable start to his Head coaching career with the Broncos and will be looking to push for promotion at the first time of asking.

Ward joined the club in 2008 as a player for Harlequins RL after having played successfully at Leeds Rhinos, Castleford Tigers and Hull Kingston Rovers. He finished playing in 2011 and was back at the club coaching the Scholarship in 2012 and the Academy by 2014 having worked with the England Youth set up during that time.

He continued working with the Academy side and when Andrew Henderson took over as Head Coach became his assistant through 2015, 2016 and 2017.

On Henderson’s departure Chairman David Hughes looked within the club and turned to Ward to lead the side forward.

In his first season in charge he managed to guide London Broncos back to Super League for the first time since the 2014 season defying the odds and the critics along the way.

Ward said: “I am very happy to extend my contract with Broncos and a big thanks to the Gaffer, David Hughes, for putting faith in me again. London is our home and I am truly privileged to coach RL in the greatest city in the world.

“It has been an incredible journey so far, suffering incredible highs and lows along the way, with a fantastic bunch of players and performance staff and I am really looking forward to next season and the challenges that come our way.??

Chairman, David Hughes said: “Danny is almost a Londoner now and has done incredible things with the squad here in the capital.

"You can tell by the way the boys play that they have a huge respect for him and he has instilled a togetherness here that is second to none.

"I am delighted that he has decide to stay here for another two years and I have every confidence that he and his backroom team will be working harder than ever to get us back to Super League as soon as possible.??
