BWhcSL: Warriors v Bulls Preview

The Betfred Wheelchair Super League returns this weekend as Bradford Bulls meet Wigan Warriors for the first time since they joined the competition ahead of the 2026 season (6 June, KO 1:15pm, Robin Park Centre).

The Bulls have made a determined start to life in the top flight, showing that they are more than capable of competing against the sport’s established sides.

Having earned promotion following an impressive Championship campaign, the squad have embraced the challenge of Super League and are eager to further their positive start.

Well aware of the Bulls’ potential is Wigan’s Jack Heggie, who touched on their appointment to the competition earlier this season when the pair met in the Quarter Finals of the Betfred Challenge Cup:

“It’s their first season, but we’re not going to underestimate them, we know they’re going to be strong, we know where their threats are.

“Bradford did a really good job against Castleford who were the strongest team in the Championship from what I saw last year, having won the Grand Final.

“Both team will back themselves this weekend, I think it should be a good game.”

After getting the edge in that Challenge Cup encounter, Wigan will be hoping they can bring that same intensity to their Super League campaign.

The Warriors have enjoyed a strong start to the season and will be looking to build further momentum as they continue their push towards to the top half of the table.

But still fired up and looking for their first win are the Bulls who will see this fixture as another opportunity to prove they belong among the elite.

The young side have shown plenty of resilience and quality throughout their opening rounds and will be determined to turn their promising performances into competition points.
