The latest Play-Off Permutations

The race for the 2026 Betfred Super League Play-Offs is reaching its decisive stage, with just four regular season rounds remaining.

Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors have already confirmed their places in the top six, whilst battle for the remaining four Play-Off places continues.

Who will finish where?

Leeds’ surprise 20–16 defeat to Leigh Leopards at AMT Headingley Stadium on Thursday Night, coupled with the Warriors’ victory over Bradford Bulls on Saturday, has blown the League Leaders’ Shield race wide open.

The Rhinos and Warriors are now level on 36 league points at the top of the table, although Leeds retain the advantage on points difference.

Behind them, Warrington Wolves and Wakefield Trinity are both on 32 points, with Hull KR sitting fifth on 30. Leigh Leopards are sixth on 30, and St Helens remain in seventh on 26.

With Warrington and Hull KR still to play their rearranged Round 2 fixture on Tuesday, the permutations could change dramatically before Round 24 even gets underway.

Both teams emerged victorious in Round 23, giving them both plenty of momentum heading into this busy and crucial period.

The Wolves are in a strong position, sitting third with a game in hand.

And if Sam Burgess’ side win one of their two matches this week and Saints fail to win, then the Wolves will secure their Play-Off place.

Warrington could also qualify with one win and one draw, regardless of the St Helens result.

Wire still have an outside chance of finishing in the top two, although they will need results elsewhere to go their way.

Hull KR face a huge challenge to secure their Play-Off place this week.

The Robins must beat Warrington in Tuesday’s rearranged Round 2 fixture before winning again in Round 24, while also relying on St Helens failing to win at the same time.

A win and a draw could also see them book their top six spot, but again, only if Saints are defeated by Castleford Tigers.

Two victories would certainly put Hull KR in an excellent position heading into the final three rounds.

Wakefield missed a crucial opportunity to confirm their Play-Off place in Round 23 after suffering a costly slip up to St Helens, who in turn produced one of the performances of the round in order to keep their season alive.

Trinity will have to dust themselves down quickly as The Final Charge heats up, with a tasty tie against the Warriors waiting in the wings on Friday Night.

Daryl Powell’s men remain fourth on 32 points after Saturday’s defeat to Saints, and could drop to fifth before they've even played if the Robins take home the spoils on Tuesday.

However, and importantly, Trinity can still book their place in the top six in Round 24.

If Wakefield beat Wigan and St Helens lose, Trinity will secure their Play-Off place for 2026.

Elsewhere, Leigh cannot ensure their Play-Off place in Round 24, but their stunning victory over Leeds has put them firmly back in the race for the top four.

The Leopards are currently sixth on 30 points, four points clear of St Helens.

A win in Round 24 would strengthen Leigh’s position considerably and put further pressure on the teams around them.

Finally, following their emphatic 16-46 victory over Wakefield, St Helens have kept their Play-Off hopes alive and reignited their Final Charge.

The Saints are now four points behind Leigh with four rounds remaining, meaning they still have plenty to play for.

However, another defeat would leave their hopes hanging by a thread, particularly if Leigh were to pick up another victory.

The permutations will become clearer after Tuesday’s rearranged fixture between the Robins and the Wolves, but with only four rounds remaining, every point is becoming increasingly valuable.

The Final Charge is well and truly underway — and the fight for Play-Off positions is going right down until the very end.

The Final Charge continues on Tuesday 18 August with Hull KR hosting Warrington Wolves (live on Sky Sports).
