Ben Currie and 12,500 Wolves fans are ready for Old Trafford

Warrington Wolves supporters have already snapped up 12,500 tickets for next Saturday’s Betfred Super League Grand Final – and now every Wire fan has the chance to join us at Old Trafford.

Following an incredible response from Members and Season Ticket holders, tickets are now on general sale to all Warrington Wolves supporters from 9am on Sunday 27 September.

The Wolves will take on Wakefield Trinity at Old Trafford on Saturday 3 October (K.O. 6pm), with a new name guaranteed to be engraved on the Super League trophy.

And for one Warrington player in particular, the occasion has been a very long time coming.

Ben Currie has spent his entire professional career with the Wire, but despite 15 years at the Club, injuries have cruelly denied him the opportunity to feature in Warrington’s previous Grand Final appearances during his time in primrose and blue.

Now, after helping the Wolves book their place at Old Trafford with a dramatic Semi-Final victory over Leeds Rhinos, Currie is hoping it will finally be third time lucky.

“Obviously I've been at the club now for 15 years and unfortunately I've not managed to play at Old Trafford, so I think it's cross training goes well this week, I can get there this time,” he said after the win.

“Like I said, third time lucky, missed a couple few injury, but yeah, I'm over the moon with today.”

For Currie, though, next Saturday is about far more than finally getting his opportunity on the Grand Final stage. It is about representing the club and town he has called home throughout his career.

“It's not just the team, the club, the town,” he said. “I've been here a long time, 15 years like I said, and we've not delivered what I personally wanted to deliver to this club, which I'm not happy with.

“All we've done now is give ourselves one more week.

“We speak out, giving ourselves an opportunity, and we've done that.”
